Hi! I'm Kathy Thomas. I have been a RN for 40 years working in NICU, Labor and Delivery, Postpartum and my passion, as a board-certified lactation consultant. I am passionate about breastfeeding because my first two sons struggled to breastfeed, and I had to be back at work 5 and 6 weeks postpartum! I did all the tricks, nipple shields, feeding tubes, and I felt defeated. I do not want that to be your experience!

But a positive & productive breastfeeding experience is possible for you.

Prenatal Resources: Feel confident and prepared with one designated expert for all your breastfeeding questions during pregnancy, throughout your labor & delivery, and once your baby is here – you’ll receive one-to-one breastfeeding support until your baby is 3 months old. Visit breakdown

Prenatal Consult: You will have a full breastfeeding course and assessment in your home by Kathy

Virtual hospital consultation: Hospitals stays and the first 24-72 hours can be hard. At times we receive conflicting information. Things not making sense? This consult will put to rest any concerns or confusion you may have and get you started on the right foot.

Visit 2: Make sure baby is latching well and getting enough to eat with weighted feedings. My weights are accurate to 2 grams. I will put together a care plan for your first week at home that leads to feeding confidence and empowerment.

Visit 3: Assess weight gain, latch success, and make any necessary tweaks to your custom care plan. All questions on the table, even postpartum and baby needs will be discussed.

Visit 4: Address pumping and introduce a bottle if we haven’t already

With the All-Inclusive Lactation Package, you have 24/7 virtual support via private chat until your baby is 3 months old!

Prenatal Consultations

I love meeting my mamas before baby is here. At our first appointment I will evaluate your medical history and anatomy, with an honest and thorough assessment. We will get you off to a great start. We believe that knowledge is power. That's why we offer breastfeeding education in your home at our prenatal consultation. My goal is for you to feel confident and informed about your breastfeeding journey.

Latch & Feeding Assistance

A good latch is so important for our goal of pain free breastfeeding. I will be in your home, where you feel most comfortable, and use my 40 years of experience to give you all of my tools. We'll work with you to find a solution that works best for you and your baby. We will perform weighted feedings so you can exactly what your baby is taking from your breast.

Bottle-feeding

Teaching families to bottle-feed is an important skill. Paced bottle feeding, ensuring the best bottle, right flow rate and how to mimic the breast will help prevent flow preference and help baby stay at the breast as much as Mom desires. There is not a right or wrong way to feed your baby.

Returning To Work

Feeding is more than milk-its connection. The transition to offering milk in a bottle with confidence is important. I will also give you all my tips on storage, preparation of milk and planning for pumping at work.

Milk Supply Support

If you're struggling with milk supply, there are answers. I'll explain what research says and share my experience after working with thousands of Mamas

Texting support

Kathy provides follow-up texting support for questions and clarification after your consultation for two weeks, Monday through Friday. All questions are on the table!
